geCKo Materials is looking for a Robotics Engineer (R&D) to join our growing team. This role requires an individual capable of building automated systems from the ground up in order to scale our novel technology while we continuously optimize and improve our manufacturing procedures and diversify our product mix. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys creating novel systems and the challenges of developing new products. This is an “impact job,” meaning there will be ample opportunity to effect changes and see the results. Responsibilities

Develop specialized end of arm tooling for robot arms

Design, build, and implement manufacturing automation machines and processes

Design of Experiment and test apparatus creation for quality control and product testing
-
Work cross-functionally with manufacturing and applications engineers as a robotics SME
-
Provide recommendations on design and manufacturing procedures leading to new product launches

Conduct detailed research and record findings
-
Create and maintain relevant technical documentation
-
Demonstrate excellent time management skills for on-time delivery of assignments

Take ownership of and manage projects as assigned
Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge
-
Mechatronics: ROS, Linux, controls, system integration
-
Programming: C++, Python, MATLAB
-
Electronics: circuit building and troubleshooting

Proficient with CAD
-
Prototyping, to include tools such as CNC machining, laser cutter, 3D printer, etc
-
Proficient in creating, reviewing, and editing of relevant technical documents
-
Industrial robot programming
-
Proven record of accomplishment in robotics R&D

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Meticulous attention to detail

Minimum lifting requirement of 20 lbs

Typical Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering related discipline and 3 years of related experience or Master's Degree with 2 years of related experience.
