Founding Manufacturing Engineer
geCKo Materials is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team. This role requires an individual capable of leveraging their experience and knowledge into scaling our novel technology as we continuously optimize and improve our current manufacturing procedures and diversify our product mix.This position is a fit for an engineer who enjoys research, experimentation, and design, yet is also capable of conducting the hands-on work of building products and fully carrying concepts from ideation to realization since there will be a requirement to develop custom tooling and fixtures for use on the manufacturing line. This is an “impact job,” meaning there will be ample opportunity to effect changes and see the results. Responsibilities
Manufacturing, machining and designing in CAD.

Work directly with the Head of Engineering to define, develop, and implement continuous process improvements to existing manufacturing operations

Provide daily direct manufacturing support to troubleshoot and resolve issues and document solutions following GMP
-
Build products to meet customer demands

Develop standardized methods and procedures to improve manufacturing line efficiency–to include internally published work instructions, SOPs, and R&D reports

Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and make recommendations to improve manufacturing throughput

Identify the root causes of manufacturing related issues and perform corrective and preventive action using established problem solving methods

Provide recommendations on design and manufacturing procedures leading to new product launches
-
Prototyping and testing of new tooling, fixtures, methods, and production concepts

Perform evaluation and characterization of atypical materials.

Maintain detailed records of manufacturing operations
-
Demonstrate excellent time management skills for on-time delivery of assignments

Take ownership of and manage projects as assigned

Organize and conduct cross-functional sub-team meetings and present regular updates

Operate and maintain equipment as required
Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge
-
Proven record within a manufacturing environment
-
Solid foundational knowledge of GMP
-
Knowledgeable in current manufacturing industry techniques and practices
-
An interest in early-stage development of a novel technology into a diverse product mix
-
Experience with CAD/CAM/FEA software
-
Prototyping experience, to include tools such as CNC, laser cutter, 3D printer, etc
-
Proficient in creating, reviewing, and editing of relevant technical documents
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Meticulous attention to detail

Minimum lifting requirement of 20 lbs

Typical Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering related discipline and 3 years of related experience or Master's Degree with 2 years of related experience.
